Travelling Companion-What every gal should have

Travelling companions

The essentials that every gal must have whilst on her travels....

April Showers and May winds..... Know what, summer is next, and soon Holidays basking in the sun is what we have to look forward to.  Some may have already booked long haul tickets to far flung exotic destinations.  So what have we to pack to keep us looking relaxed and totally cool !!!

With Baggage allowances becoming ever more minimalist, one has to think carefully of what to pack.  Gone are the days where you randomly threw stuff into the suitcase as a "Just in Case" or "I might need to wear it".

So here are my Wash bag items not to forget.

This is a real handy item to pack a Body scrub, gives your skin a through deep clean, no need for flannels, bath mitts, or the mangy looking loofah.   There is no slimy soap slime to deal with.  The wool wrapper snugly holds the scrub permanently

Facial Scrub.  giving your face a through deep clean means your skin has a deep healthy glow.  it feels refreshed.  The scrub is gentle and kind to your skin

A mineral based face powder, it great for taking off shine, its perfect in sunny, humid conditions, and feels light and fresh on the skin

Your brushes for all that fluffing and touching up

A neutral nude pink shade of lipstick.  This is a cool trick to have saving on carrying too many items, you can use it as eye shadow, just dab at the corner of your eyelids and blend with your finger tip, you can use it as lipstick and you can also use it as a blusher to give those cheek bones some high definition.  so a handy little stick to carry around.

Eye liner to give those eyes that doe full look. and your all set

Last but not least your sun screen.  It really is a must.

Happy Holidays !!!

Aloe Soap

Handmade Soap with Aloe

Aloe is succulent plant, with thick plump fleshy leaves and a spiky spine at the edges of its leaves.  Its the pulp from these fleshy leaves, that is used as a gel in my soaps.

I grow all of the aloe used in my soaps.

There are records and descriptions found on Papyrus dating back thousands of year initiating the use of Aloe as a herbal ingredient.  Today its found in just about everything.

I use the pulp from the fleshy leaves in my soaps.  It is a clear almost translucent jelly like texture.  Quite soothing to touch.

The Soap bars are handmade with a lye base.  I add the pulp and mix it in almost towards the end of the soap making process, about a couple of minutes before pouring into molds so as not to over cook or over process the pulp.

The soap trays are left to mature at least a month, sometimes more.

I then wrap the soaps in natural fibers like wool and cotton sometimes incorporating some flax.  This give the soap a scrubber quality so it gently exfoliates the skin.

Here is my batch of Aloe soap with a design detail inspired by nature.

One block of soap measures 6 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm and is approx 70 g in weight.  they look like adorable parcels.

To Use: Thoroughly wet the bar of soap, then rub to build a good lather. It will take a bit longer than normal soap to get a lather as the soap has to work its way through the wool.  Once you get a good lather it is simply luxurious to use.

The wool acts like a scrubber or buffer, so no need for bath mitts and flannels etc.  and the oils and aloe in the soap moisturize the skin.

After Use: simply rinse, give it a little pat on your towel and leave to dry.  The wool will shrink with the soap as it gets used, so it will always maintain the contours of the soap.  There's no need for soap dishes and trays.  No slimy soap mess, just leave it on the wash stand to dry.

I have packaged the soap in 3 sets

One single bar of soap (great as a trial)
Handmade Natural Fibre Felted Soap Natural Facial Scrub/buff/Exfoliate with Aloe Gel 1 x 70g
 Pack of 2
Handmade Luxury Natural Fibre Felted Soap Facial Buff/Scrub/Exfoliate 2 x 70 g
Pack of 3
Handmade Luxury Natural Fiber Felted Soap Facial Buff/Scrub/Exfoliate PACK of 3

If you do try it, I would absolutely love to hear, how you liked it.

#TEA TREE #SOAP

Handmade Soap with Tea Tree Oil
A nicely matured batch of Handmade Soap with Tea Tree Oil.
Tea Tree oil is very soothing and relaxing.  I think, one of my favorite oils.  Its quite good on Acne skin as well.

The soap is wrapped in wool.  The wool acts like a scrubber, exfoliator, skin buffer.
I have cut the bars into little cubes measuring 5 x 4 x 3 cm and each cube is approx 70g
The pattern is a cream or off white base with slithers of green sage and yellow running through it.  Looks delicious enough to eat.

I have grouped them in three packages:

One single piece.
